Colon Tube

best colon cleanseColon tubes can be found in many different sizes and types. Often you will also hear of them referred to as rectal catheters. They are attached to an enema bag and their purpose is to put liquid into the colon. Usually the liquid is used to clean and irrigate the colon.

The type of colon tube you used is important because you will want one that is long enough to reach into the colon without causing any damage to the colon. You will need a colon tube that is soft and flexible in order to get around the crooks and turns inside the colon. Colon tube insertion is also very important. The insertion should be done gently so as to not cause any damage to the delicate tissue found inside the colon.

Colon tube enemas are used to help cleanse the colon from harmful toxins and also to treat occasional constipation. A colon tube enema should contain a mild soap and about two quarts of warm water. You will want to get a colon tube that is fairly long since you will need to reach as far into the colon as possible. Clinics that regularly offer colonics will use a tube that is 30 to 40 inches long. This may sound like a lot of tube but it really is not when compared to the length of the colon.

Before you begin your colon tube enema you should first get your enema prepared and placed into the enema bag. Make sure the colon tube is attached to the bag securely so that it will not leak. If you must lay in the floor or the bathtub you will probably want to place some type of soft mat down to lay on. If you have an exercise mat you can cover it with a towel for comfort. Find a pillow that you can use to place under your buttocks once the enema is started. This will allow the enema to reach further into the colon.

When you get everything ready for your enema you will want to lay on your left side in a fairly comfortable position. You can get the enema started in this position. Once the liquid begins to flow into the colon you can then turn over onto your back and place the pillow under your hips. When you do this you will want to slowly insert the colon tube further into the colon. The flow of the water will help you accomplish this.

Allow the liquid to flow slowly into the colon. Elevate your hips as much as possible to allow the liquid to reach all areas of the colon. Once all of the liquid has passed into the colon you will want to remove the colon tube and try to relax for 10 to 20 minutes to give the liquid enough time to thoroughly cleanse the inside of the colon. This may be a little difficult but you can practice some deep breathing to help you relax. You may feel some abdominal cramping but this is to be expected.
